Affiliate Marketing For Your Business From Home

Affiliate Marketing is promoting a product with your business from home,in which an affiliate is then rewarded for every visitor, subscriber, customer, and/or sale provided through their efforts for a company providing the product.

The compensation or commission that an affiliate receives may be based on a certain value for each exposure, visit (pay per click), new customer (pay per lead), sale which is usually a percentage of the item sold (pay per sale or commission) or it may be a combination of any of these.

Many companies like to use affiliate marketing because they do not incur any marketing or advertising expenses. There are also some e-commerce sites around today which run their own affiliate programs, while others use third party services.

There are many businesses online today who owe much of their growth and success to the use of affiliate marketing. It has been especially successful for small and mid size businesses on the internet.

Now that we have looked at what affiliate marketing is, what are some reasons why it is a good online business from home to set up?

No Production Costs

With an affiliate program, production costs are no longer an issue because the product has been developed and proven to be good by the merchant. Best of all, the merchant pays the cost to develop a product and not you.

Minimal investment to start

All you will need is a desk, computer, internet connection and word processing software to get started with your internet business from home.

Costs Involved

Normally it is free to join an affiliate program, and all the set up costs and shipping costs will be assumed by the merchant whose products you are selling. Also, you do not need anyplace to store goods, so this is another reason to join an affiliate program. So if you happen to live in a 1 bedroom apartment, you can still sell the biggest products going and all the goods are stored by the merchant.

Choices

There are thousands of products and services that you can choose from. So finding the right products for either a website you already have or one that you are planning to build should no be a problem.

No need to have a Merchants Account

This can be a time consuming and costly expense for anyone setting up any business for the first time. Certainly, it is even more so where an online business is concerned. However, as an affiliate, the merchant you are selling the product for will bear all costs, as well as handle the processing of all payments. So you never have to worry about any potential charge backs, fraudulent purchase.

No longer will you be concerned with collecting and storing names and addresses of customers along with their credit card information. Plus, no longer do you have to worry about dealing with awkward or nasty customers and their complaints.

Probably one of the best things about affiliate marketing is that you can make money while you sleep.

Another benefit about affiliate marketing is that if the product you chose is not making money, then you can just find another one that works. This is because there are no long term contracts which bind you to selling one particular product, so the risk to you is minimal.

If you work hard at affiliate marketing, then the potential to earn a good income is great. It really depends on how bad you want it and how much effort you are willing to put in marketing the products.

Before you can be successful with an internet business from home, you must possess 3 distinct charachteristics which must come from deep within you and drive you to succeed!

First, you must have an ABSOLUTE DESIRE to make a change.

Your desire will be driven by something within you for something you absolutely WANT and CAN'T have. What is that burning desire within you? Is it a new car, a new house, every toy imaginable?

MOST of the time, People want more time to spend with their family! More time to watch their kids grow up "LIVE" and not on video. Why MUST you have that successful business from home? What is it you MUST HAVE right now?

For me, I was to the point where I hated to see Sunday nights roll around. I was a truck driver and truck drivers are cheated out of more time with family than any other profession, except our brave soldiers around the world! I knew Sunday night meant I would be leaving my family and not see them again until Friday night.

I was luckier than most truckers because I had advanced to a position which I was able to be home every weekend. But that took 2 long years of only seeing my loved ones 1 weekend every 2 or 3 weeks!

That was my ABSOLUTE DESIRE, it was my goal to have a successful internet business from home so I didn't have to leave them every Sunday night.


Next, FAITH is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.

You must have FAITH that it's very possible for you to have a successful business from home and make a good living to satisfy your own ABSOLUTE DESIRES. Robert Collier said, "Your chances of success in any undertaking can always be measured by your belief in yourself."

First, I had to have faith in myself. I had to believe and realize there were a lot of people already making a great income with an intenet business from home. I knew it was up to me to find the secret that was making people successful online. I had to find a reliable, legitimate sytem that worked and a mentor who is successful and is willing to share secrets.


Now the hard part...COMMITMENT!

Internet marketing is not something you can get prepared for, you just have to do it. Opportunities never come to those who wait - they are captured by those who dare to attack.

The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. We spend the first half of our lives dreaming about the future, then spend the last half bemoaning our failures in the first half, with the results that we LOSE BOTH HALVES.

Fortunately, the loss (if you should fail) of starting your own internet business from home is minimal compared to a brick and mortar business which requires thousands of dollars before you even open the doors.
